What is Meta-Coaching?
Coaching can be described as a rigorous, searching, person-focused conversation between coach and client which is structured to achieve new learnings which will enable the client to release old patterns, move forward and achieve life, business or sporting goals.
Meta-Coaching focuses on process and structure more than content, and examines identity, decisions, beliefs, meanings and values, utilising the entire mind-body-emotion system.
Meta-Coaching is NOT a therapy, nor is it counselling, mentoring, consulting or training.
The theory behind Meta-coaching is Neuro Semantics, which is drawn from Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and the work of Abraham Maslow.
NLP gently supports the removal of the influence of · fears · phobias · negative emotions and · negative thinkingwhich can block your progress toward achieving your goals and becoming the complete human being you desire to be.
NLP can change the negative strategies which can often control life. These strategies can support addictions, create recurring patterns of behaviour and result in relationship problems. NLP will help you to feel more powerful, motivated, confident, energetic, happy and complete.
I will provide you with new strategies to achieve all your goals, whether they be achieving a career goal, a wonderful loving relationship or ceasing an addictive habit. I support my NLP clients with hypnotherapy to help embed all the changes made, or support the newly determined life goals.

What is NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)?
Neuro – Our experience of the world is processed via the nervous system (the mind) through our five senses: visual, auditory, kinesthetic (touch), olfactory (smell). gustatory (taste).
Linguistic – Language and other non verbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning. Language patterns are an expression of who we are and how we think.
Programming – Programs that we run (our communication to ourselves and others) in our neurological systems to achieve our desired outcomes.
The above definition somewhat defines NLP, however NLP is a collection of many different processes developed over time. There are therefore many different definitions – all of which are correct.
NLP is the induction of profound change in the state of consciousness of a client through a cooperative flow of energy and ideas.
NLP is the study of how language (both verbal and non-verbal) affects the nervous system.
NLP provides a scientific systematic framework for directing our own brain in an optimal way to produce the desired results.
NLP is the science that teaches how to use the neurological and linguistic resources in order to follow the program of self preservation, health and happiness in union with other people and nature.
NLP is the study of what works. It is the process of unpacking the “how” of what we and others do, either to achieve the same results for ourselves or to teach them to others. As such it is a process of continuous growth and learning.
How is Time Line Therapy® Utilized?
Time Line Therapy™ is a process which supports the unconscious mind to release negative emotions and limiting decisions.
Human beings begin making decisions from the moment of birth. These decisions create who we are and include our beliefs, values and attitudes. These decisions are often made unconsciously or can be made consciously and then forgotten.
Limiting Decisions are those decisions which we have made in the past which can restrict our options for future choice. These decisions continue to unconsciously direct our current decision making in ways which may cause us to repeat behaviours in a pattern like manner or prevent us from reaching our desired goals.
We store our memories in the gestalt in relation to time and they form a 'time line'. This 'time line' enables us to distinguish a memory from the past and a projection of the future.
Negative Emotions are stored energies represented by internal feelings of guilt, fear, anger, sadness, hurt, rage, terror, anxiety. These stored energies are vital for our capacity to communicate with others and to direct our lives toward health and happiness. However in excessive and inappropriate amounts, negative emotions can paralyse us or distort our perception of reality
The Time Line Therapy™ process allows you to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change 'inappropriate' programming caused by negative emotions or limiting decisions in minutes. This 'release' clears the way for the achievement of goals and creation of a positive future.

NLP for Business Coaching
If you have ever sought the services of a business coach, you will find coaching based on Neuro Linguistic programming to be very different.
I will not coach you on the technical details of business management – which I suspect you already know a lot about. I will coach you on how to think – not what to think. I will coach you to become a better leader and communicator, and most importantly to understand yourself, so that you can manage your mind and achieve your goals.
I firmly believe that UNLOCKING WHAT IS BETWEEN THE BUSINESS LEADER’S EARS is the path to success. SWOT Analysis, strategic planning processes or activities designed to seek innovative ideas from staff or any number of other best and greatest business management techniques are important – however such information is useless unless the leader has the flexibility of thinking to utilise it. NLP for Sports Coaching
I am not a Sports Coach (in the traditional sense), however I know a lot about:
• Setting goals
• Increasing motivation
• Focusing the mind and getting into and staying in the "zone"
and therefore getting results.
All people participating in sport require the ability to maintain an absolute focus on the goal.
How do you maintain focus to improve speed by 1/100th of a second – or win that match point – or shoot that winning goal – every time you need to do it?
How do you maintain that motivation to train – to put in the long and hard hours? It is much easier to procrastinate and put the training off – or not train as hard – is it not?
That little voice inside that says “you’ll never find enough speed to beat him or her,” just yells out at the most inappropriate time.
Everybody has to deal with these issues at some point in time if that ultimate goal of becoming a champion is to be reached.

NLP for Relationships & Couples
Seeking healthy and happy relationships is very important to most people. Whether it is with our family, our spouse/lover, our children, our friends, our work/business colleagues, they are all important to us.
It is an immutable law of life that we attract to ourselves the very people that we need to learn the most from, and because we cannot see or understand what it is we need to learn, we tend to fall into positions of conflict which can destroy the feelings of connectedness that glue any relationship together.
If any of our key relationships are not as we would like, especially the relationship with our spouse or partner, we can feel very sad and demotivated, which consequently affects everything else we do in life. Sometimes the negative feelings are very powerful, and alcohol, drugs, or sex outside of the relationship, are utilised to help us feel better about ourselves – all of which of course, in the end, only have negative consequences.
An important aspect of relationships is understanding each other’s values. Do you know your own values and what is their order of importance to you? How about your partner’s values? If you don’t know what YOU truly value, how do you expect your partner to know?
NLP can help remove the negative emotions and patterns, and old decisions, which limit your ability to accept fully the role that you play in a relationship, and enhance your understanding of what it is that drives the connection between yourself and the other person. We will then use NLP techniques to install new strategies you can use to continue to re-build and reinforce the connections between you. Understanding your values (as well as your partner’s) is an integral part of this process.
When it comes to couple relationship issues, it may be important for both partners to participate in the coaching process, so that the maximum benefit is obtained from the new skills and knowledge (and shift in consciousness) attained, and restore the connected, loving, passionate relationship you desire.
NLP for Health & Wellbeing
WEIGHT LOSS AND STOPPING SMOKING
For most people, being healthy is an incredibly important aspect of life. After all, having a healthy body enables us to fully enjoy the present and to contemplate and plan for the future.
Sometimes the health and wellbeing issues we are confronted with are a result of decisions we have made, and because of the patterns wired into our brains, we keep making the same decisions eg. eating food we know is not good for us, drinking too much alcohol, deciding to watch a movie instead of going to the gym or yoga class, or deciding to limit the range of possible solutions to a health issue. All of these decisions can be made in a totally unconscious manner.
NLP processes can expose these unconscious decisions, and using a range of techniques, the old decisions and their associated patterns can be changed or deleted.
New decisions can then be installed which lead to healthy choices being made. In this way clients can lose weight, increase fitness, make different decisions about general behavior, and improve general health and wellbeing.
WEIGHT LOSS
A very simple example of a behaviour that can be changed very quickly using NLP and have terrific health benefits is the removal of a desire to eat a particular food – lets say chocolate biscuits. At some point in the person’s life they have made a decision (which has now become unconscious) - "that chocolate biscuits taste terrific". Now they want to stop eating chocolate biscuits because they contain too many calories and find it impossible to do so. NLP processes are used to change the decision to "chocolate biscuits taste like burnt rubber" or some other truly disgusting taste. As long as the person does not deliberately eat a chocolate biscuit, it is more than likely that they will no longer have a craving for them, and will not eat them.
Obviously, most people are seeking assistance with more complicated weight loss issues, and hence the required responses are more involved, however NLP can provide some very quick responses to many of those issues.
STOP SMOKING
NLP and Hypnosis are a terrific aid to stopping the smoking habit. Hopefully it will be easy - however as with any process aimed at altering behaviour, the client does need to want to stop smoking - 100%.
NLP for Removing Phobias
Do you have, like most people, a fear of something – like spiders, snakes, heights, closed or open spaces? Or maybe you have a fear of success. Some people even have a fear of life itself.
Any fear which causes you to not do something, or worse still, causes you to freeze, is incredibly unproductive and unhelpful.
Can you imagine what life would be like without that phobia?
NLP is great for removing phobias and freeing yourself from those limitations.
NLP for Personal Development
What is the best way to get the results we want out of life? The answer is to be in control of all of your resources, in other words, be in control of your states, your actions and therefore the results you obtain from your body.
Do you feel frustrated that your life does not seem to be going the way you want – but you are not sure where it is you want to go? You just know that you are not happy and you want to go in a different direction.
NLP for Achieving Life Goals
You do know what it is you want to achieve, and it is just not happening – everything else keeps getting in the way.
Whether it is a new job, a new or repaired relationship, greater financial success, better health, or more peace and tranquility in your life – it doesn’t matter what the goal is (as long as it is congruent with your values and is ethical), I will assist you to realise your life and personal development goals. Sometimes the resulting shift in consciousness in the client has quite dramatic results, with goals being realised amazingly quickly.
